The Story

The Symposium

The Camp-stool Fresco depicts ceremonial banquets, likely reflecting real banquets conducted in the western section of the Palace of Knossos, where the fresco was discovered. The original fragments are assembled in a panel illustrating both standing and seated figures on camp stools, engaging in rituals involving cups and kylikes. This Minoan fresco originates from the Final Palatial period, dated between 1450 and 1300 BC, and is housed at the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, originating from the Palace of Knossos.
